"Everything is broken..." Empty

All his fears were confirmed.

Kelsey was not only still in the business, but she was starting something she possibly couldn't finish.

Holding his head in his hands, he sealed his mouth shut, trying his very best to keep himself from screaming his lungs out. When the door to her room opened, he frowned, turning to see Kelsey standing there with wide eyes that screamed fear.

She was scared of his reaction and she has every right to be.

"Jackson, let me explain—"

"No," He silenced her, angrily biting onto his bottom lip. "You lied to me, Kelsey."

"I know but it was for your own good—"

"My own fucking good?" He stared over at her incredulously, "Do you fucking hear yourself right now?"

"Just listen to me!" Kelsey barked, ending his rant as she stared over at him with big hazel eyes burning. "Please." She dropped his voice to a normal tone. "That's all I'm asking for—is for you to just listen."

He stood quiet, wanting her to elaborate on what she just said.

Nervously biting onto her lip, she began pacing the floor. "I know this look bad. I know I shouldn't have lied but if I would have told you about this, it just would have started a bigger problem—something I can't deal with at the moment. I just got you back, I honestly don't want to ruin that."

"Then don't go through with this, again."

"Jackson," Kelsey quickly ran her hand through her curly hair. "Don't." She warned.

"You're fucking unbelievable!" He yelled, frowning in the process. "This is for you! You can't be doing risky things like this and jeopardize your life because of some low life bitches that rein to bring you down!"

"I can't let them live either," Kelsey snarled, her cheeks growing red. "They came after me tonight while you were there with me, showing they have no bounds. They will go after you, to get to me. Do you want that?"

"No, of course I don't." He hissed, giving her a bewildered expression, confused that she'd even ask a stupid question like that.

"Then don't question my judgment. I know what I'm doing Jackson, okay? If you just take a moment to let this get through your head, you'll see that what I'm doing is for the benefit of the both of us."

"It could potentially get you thrown back into jail..." He murmured, sorrow caking his face. "How that beneficial for us?"

"I won't let that happen." She retorted, a glimpse of vulnerability flashing in his eyes. "Nothing will take me away from you again."

"You can't control life, Kelsey. You may be able to kill those bastards but there's no way in hell you could keep yourself from going to prison, again."

"If I do it right, I'll be able to take them all down, keeping you out of harm's way, but in order to do that, I need you to cooperate with me." Kelsey took a small step forwards, resulting him to take one large step back.

"Don't." He hissed, his face turning red with anger.

Pain lit up in her eyes. "Jackson—"

"You told me you were done with business." He spoke, sadness laced within each word as he stared down at his hands, refusing to look at her. "And here you are, lying to me again. How can you just stand there and justify everything as if it's all fucking okay? It's not. I need you in my life, don't you understand?"

Keeping silent, Kelsey listened to what he had to say.

"Without you, it's like everything is falling out of reach and there's nothing I can do about it." He kept his gaze away from her. "You're putting your life in danger."

"My life is always in danger, no matter what I do. What happened tonight is a reason why my life will never be the way you want it to be." Kelsey shook her head, a sarcastic smile on her face. "Don't you see?" Her face soon grew with frustration. "I do some fucked up shit, Jackson. This lifestyle I chose for myself is anything but amazing. I kill people for a living. I make sure they pay when they cross me and I don't ever look back at what I've done because to me, it was the right thing to do. I know that's fucking messed up but that's just me. I'm messed up, Jackson. I'm mentally fucked up and there's nothing anybody can do to change that." Her eyes were blazing hazel against his saddening brown ones.

He didn't even dare to say another word. Instead, he stood silent.

"Everything is broken..." She muttered darkly, her eyes shadowing a storm. A hazed glow came over as she numbly stood there. "Everything I touch, everyone who comes into my life breaks and it's all because of me..."

"Kelsey—"

"Jasmin, my parents," Kelsey stopped herself as if she were in deep thought. "You," She finally whispered. "Frank..." She balled her hands into fists, "And now this... everyone's slowly dieing in front of me and it's my entire fault..."

"What the fuck are you talking about, Kelsey? None of that was your fault." He spoke up, confused as to why she was bringing them up. "We've already talked about this."

Snapping her head over to him, she glowered with burning hazel eyes, clearly disagreeing with him. "Everything is my fault!" Kelsey barked and before he had the chance to even realize what was going on, she grabbed the frames perched on her dresser and threw them across the room, nearly hitting him in the process. "Everything is fucked up," She sneered, throwing another series of picture frames, causing the glass plates covering each photo, to shatter against the floor. "And it's all because of me!"

"Kelsey!" He yelled, his head swirling with all kinds of emotions. "What the fuck?!"

"Broken..." She whimpered, and, for the first time ever, he watched as Kelsey stopped at what she was doing and sunk to the floor on her knees, tears engulfing her eyes which were on the borderline of falling.

"Kelsey..." He whispered, not being able to believe at what he just saw in front of him.

She looked lost, scared, and helpless; opposite of what he knew her to be. A distant look crossed her face as she stared off into nothing and that's when he knew, deep down inside, something had gone wrong.

"Kelsey." He tried again, inching closer to her as he slowly crouched down to her level. "Look at me."

"Broken..." Kelsey repeated, her voice shaky as the tears soon began to fall from her amber eyes. She sheltered her entire body, slouching forwards, in a confused daze.

"Please Kelsey. Snap the fuck out of it." He murmured soothingly, trying his best on calming her down.

"You're everything to me, do you know that?" She lowly murmured, her vision blurred with tears as she stared ahead of her.

"I do," He nodded, desperately trying to bring her back to earth. "I do know that." He spoke, walking up to her before grabbing her head in his hands and forcing her to look at him in the eyes.

Shaking her head, he could tell she was fighting back the tears that were wanting to fall out too. "You don't," She shakily whispered.

"I do Kelsey, I swear I do." He spoke, wanting her to already get out of this funk and into life again. "Please look at me."

"Without you, I'm nothing." She mumbled incoherently but he heard her clearly.

A gasp emitted from her lips as Jackson's arms found their way around her petite waist, pulling her into a hug. She nuzzled her face into his shoulder, the tears soon falling down again. "Don't leave me," She mumbled. "Please.."

Running his fingers through her curly hair, he gently soothed her back. "I'm not going anywhere." He whispered, holding her tightly and for the first time ever, he was the one reassuring her that everything was going to be okay.

"I promise."
